Watershed Run Routes
I’ve scribbled some notes about a few of the legs I ran during my month-long adventure on Scotland’s Watershed here: Watershed Running. All of the posts about the various legs include maps and route information. Some of the legs made for spectacular mountain running and I’ll be updating the blog with a few more descriptions of the best routes soon – here are the days I’ve covered so far:
Day 4: Southern Uplands (Lochcraig Head to Flecket Hill and Flecket Hill to Coulter). Great hillrunning in the best of the Southern Uplands on mostly grassy mountainous ground.
Day 10: Southern Highlands – Loch Arklet to Crianlarich. A monster day over 4 Munros including An Caisteal, Beinn a’Chroin, Cruach Ardrain and Beinn Chabhair.
Days 28 and 29 in Sutherland and Caithness. Varied running on rough trails, flow, tracks and roads heading east to Duncansby Head.
The Fannichs – Scotland’s Watershed. A long mountainous day following the line of the Watershed over the Fannich Munros.
