The Fisherfield Munros and Fisherfield Wilderness

View from the summit of A’Mhaidghean in the Fisherfield Mountains.
The Fisherfield Wilderness is one of the most wild and remote areas in the whole of Western Europe. A vast landscape free from roads and vehicle access with a combination of mountain, loch and river where narrow glens and sharp ridges offer stunning mountain walking. Five mountains in this area are among the most sought-after Munros –
- (Beinn A’Chladheimh (no longer a Munro, but no less worth climbing))
- Sgurr Ban
- Mullach Corrie Mhic Fhearchair
- Beinn Tarsuinn
- A’Mhaighdean
- Ruadh Stac Mor
On this trip we’ll tackle all six from a camp site in the heart of the Fisherfield forest. The trip involves two nights camping, this can be flexible depending on fitness level and itinerary. Rivers in spate are a big consideration when out in the Fisherfield as they rapidly become impossible to cross after heavy rain.
