Starting Climbing

Practicing abseiling on The Dearg Slab, Tollaidh.
For new climbers or those who wish to go back to basics to improve skills and confidence. Tackling some enjoyable and straightforward routes on accessible crags is a great way of discovering and practising simple rope work such as belaying and abseiling alongside developing the all important movement on rock. There are several venues in Wester Ross that fit the bill perfectly for this course.

Improving Climbing
Brush up on the basic skills and take them a little further: rope work, belaying, belay systems, bottom and top roping, setting up abseils. The course includes plenty of climbing while teaching and reinforcing the essential technical skills. This will build your confidence and make sure you are using the best practices as a climber. The course is ideally suited to climbers who have done indoor climbing and want to develop outdoor climbing skills and also those who want to go beyond the basic skills in Starting Climbing.

Learn to Lead

Leading Water Lily, E2, on Loch Tollaidh Crags.
This course is aimed at those who already have a background of climbing and are competent with the basic skills. The focus is on placing gear and improving your climbing techniques and style. Learning to lead will totally open your eyes to the joys of climbing.
