Climbing on bolts requires a completely different approach to “trad” climbing. It gives the opportunity to push further physically, being freed up from the placing of gear.

Sport climbing can also be used as an effective way of moving outdoors from the indoor climbing wall when the ultimate goal is becoming a competent trad climber.

Courses are run on the growing number of sport crags in the Gairloch area. Learn all the aspects of being safe at the crag, discuss equipment, training, the psychology of red-pointing, how to approach working a route, practice different types of moves, how to fall, how to belay and how to solve some common problems that can arise at sport crags.
